Cork’s music community will be celebrating a friend with a night of music, while also raising much needed funds for Cork Stroke Support, writes Ronan Leonard.

When sound engineer Mossie Connery passed away in 2023, the outpouring of condolences and shared memories around social media was a mark of how valued he was in the Cork – and Irish – live music scene.

A jampacked night of music to celebrate him – and raise crucial funds for Cork Stroke Support – will be held in Cyprus Avenue on Thursday, August 27, featuring many of the musicians he worked with over the years.

Conor O’Brien, probably best known to Cork audiences as Conor Ocean in the Ocean’s 6 and Ocean’s 8 bands as well as The Moondogs, is one of the evening’s co-organisers along with Graham Keane and Suzanne Higgins.
